RSL-Colts 11.85
Both St John’s and Colts put in a massive effort for the semi-final showdown.
St John’s won the toss and elected to send Colts into bat, on what proved to be a slightly wet field caused by a heavy dew.
The Saints put in an enormous effort in the field to keep Colts’ runs to a minimum.
The batting line-up was once again outstanding, with Connor Petty top scoring with 15 runs, Charlie Kempston coming a close second with 13 runs and Dominic Harvey following with 11 runs.
All-rounder Lachlan Humphries had a great day, hitting two big fours for a total of 13 runs and also taking a wicket.
Harrison Carlow produced another fantastic bowling effort, taking two wickets with figures of 2 for 2 off two.
Other fine bowlers on the day were Alex Ford with 1 for 4 off 2 and Will Crowley putting in a huge effort with 1 for 15 off 2.
Tom Munro, Tyler Barber and Maia O’Connor were a huge asset in the field, keeping Colts on their toes with their superb fielding technique.
Congratulations to the both teams for the great effort and their sportsmanship throughout the game.
Best of luck to St Johns in the grand final on the weekend.
CYMS 22.2 average
Rugby 8.4
The CYMS Cougars were too strong for Dubbo Rugby Club in the Under-10 semi-final last weekend.
Despite a great game by both teams, CYMS took the win to move into the finals next week.
CYMS possessed many great batsmen on the day, with Matthew Miller top scoring with 18 runs, Nathan Hawke (15), Thomas Nelson (14) and Daniel Duffy (13).
In addition, CYMS bowling was also right on target, keeping Rugby’s run rate down.
Daniel Duffy was the best of the bowlers, getting three wickets for three runs.
Other bowlers who had good line and length were Matthew Miller (1 for 4), Thomas Nelson (1 for 5) and special mention to Sam Hart, who got his best figures yet of 0 for 4 runs.
