It is illegal for the Daily Liberal to publish the schools’ names under the NSW Education Act section 18A.
The information was averaged from National Assessment Program Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) test results and listed alphabetically by school name, and not ranked.
However, according to the tables in yesterday’s Herald, Dubbo schools received averages from 170 (the best) to 962 (one of the State’s worst).
Peter Hill, executive director of schools for the Diocese of Bathurst, oversees Dubbo primary schools including St John’s, St Pius X, St Mary’s and St Laurence’s. He said more additional information for parents was a good idea.

According to the tables, nine of Dubbo’s schools had an average under 500, while eight were over 500. Only one high school was over 500, at 520.
Eight of Dubbo’s primary schools received averages of 677 to 962. A small school just out of Dubbo received an average of 991.
