With three straight wins under their belt, the boys at Heyer Ford are cheering for further success for the Blue Oval in tomorrow’s race while over at Golden West Holden, the crew is keen to see their brand rise once again to the top of the sport.
For Golden West new car sales manager Matt Cross, it is a chance to put four years of jibes behind him.
“Me and a few of the boys from work have a barbecue breakfast and settle in for the race,” Mr Cross said.
“Most of the time, the Ford boys find a way to give us some crap when they win but I think they have a rude shock coming this year,” he said.
“Garth Tander and Will Davison are my tip while I expect Ford’s Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup to get a rude reception from Ford fans because they
are joining the good guys next year.”
Heyer Ford’s Paul Pobje believes fans of his brand will have reason to celebrate after 161 laps of Mount Panorama are completed tomorrow.
“We’ve got good teams and we’ve got the best cars,” he said.
“I think Lowndes and Whincup will be hard to beat and so will Steve Richards and Mark Winterbottom.”
