JUNIOR LEAGUE: South Dubbo Raiders have claimed three places, and PCYC two, in the Dubbo and District Junior Rugby League grand finals after the first week of the final series matches were played at Apex Oval on Saturday.

The major and minor semi-finals produced some excellent football heading into the preliminary finals next Saturday and then the big grand final day, also at Apex Oval, on Saturday September 6.
South Dubbo players and coaches would have been pleased with the results from the major semis played Saturday with the Neil Millgate coached under 16s Raiders having to work hard to overcome Gilgandra 26-20, while PCYC got through at the expense of St John’s 20-16 in the elimination match.
Also booked for the grand finals are South Dubbo’s under-12s and under-11s - the 12s coached by Wayne Sing and the 11s by Gerry Merritt.
The PCYC club has also done well with their under-13s and 15s earning games in the grand finals.
PCYC, minor premiers in the under-15s, were too strong for South Dubbo 36-18 on Saturday, while the under-13s caused the surprise result of the day, defeating minor premiers South Dubbo 30-22 in a game that saw some magnificent attacking play from both sides.

Under-16s: (major) South Dubbo 26 def Gilgandra 20; (minor) PCYC 20 def St John’s 16.
Under-15s: (major) PCYC 36 def South Dubbo 18; (minor) Narromine 28 def St John’s 26.
Under-14s: (major) Eastridge 26 def PCYC 14; (minor) St John’s Gold 26 def Cobar 22.
Under-13s: (major) PCYC 30 def South Dubbo 22; (minor) St John’s 30 def Eastridge 10.
Under-12s: (major) South Dubbo 26 def PCYC 0; (minor) Warren 42 def Eastridge 18.
Under-11s: (major) South Dubbo 24 def Eastridge 0; (minor) St John’s Gold 16 def St John’s Blue 4;
Under-10s: (major) Warren 12 def Wellington 6; (minor) St John’s Blue 16 def Narromine 12.
Preliminary final draws
The preliminary finals draw for this coming Saturday has been determined with the following matches set down for decision, the winners going into the grand finals.
Field 4:
Under-10s, 9.30am: Wellington v St John’s Blue.
Under-11s, 10.30am: Eastridge v St John’s Gold.
Under-12s, 11.30am: Warren v PCYC.
Under-13s, 12.30pm: South Dubbo v St John’s.
Field 2:
Under-14s, 10am: PCYC v St John’s Gold.
Under-15s, 11.30am: South Dubbo v Narromine.
Under-16s, 1pm: Gilgandra v PCYC.
Canteen times: 7.30am till 9.30am: Eastridge. 9.30am-11.30am: St John’s. 11.30am-1.30pm: South Dubbo. 1.30pm-3.30pm: PCYC.
There will also be mini games for the little ones next Saturday, kicking off at 9.20am.
