Dubbo police captured Jake Wilson, 20, and the juvenile, who cannot be named for legal reasons, after they were called to the Macquarie Street department store late Wednesday night.
Orana Local Area Command (LAC) police responded to an alarm coming from the store about 11pm.
Upon arrival police allegedly observed the two on the store’s rooftop.
Wilson and the teenager allegedly ran along the roof in a vain attempt to evade police.
Police were able to gain access to the rooftop, apprehend the pair and arrest them without further incident.
Police said they recovered a number of electrical and jewellery items, which they allege were stolen from Myer.
Detectives from Orana LAC were called to the scene shortly after and started investigations.
Police alleged Wilson and the teen gained entry into the store through a section of the roof.
They also reported damage caused to various display cabinets in the store.
Wilson and the teen were taken to Dubbo Police Station and charged with break, enter and steal.
Wilson was remanded in custody after appearing in Dubbo Local Court yesterday.
The 16-year-old was also refused bail in Dubbo Children’s Court.
They will reappear later this year.
