The Fishes will field a new-look combination that will be without Bernard Wilson, Eprama Navale, Josh Large and their captain - not an ideal situation according to Pay but one that he aims to turn into a positive.
"We're certainly not
taking Forbes lightly, these players have genuine injuries that need time to heal," Pay said.
"The positive about the situation is that Warren Wilson can be brought off the bench into the centres with Justin Yeo, Chris McGee gets a run on the wing and young Reece Large will play his first run-on game in the second-row.
"We also have the ideal situation of having Nick Wilson back again after holidays getting through his run off the bench against Narromine last week.
"Despite the changes I'm confident the team can get the job done."
Selectors have also taken a punt by moving Simon Yeo from the centres into the second-row, but Pay is confident the move will pay off.
"Simon's had a run there before and we're confident he will handle the change without too much trouble," Pay said.
Despite their demise at the hands of Macquarie in the local derby, CYMS came out and smashed Narromine 61-10 last week with the Jets having to play short handed after captain-coach Mick Clarke and his brother Terry were sent off during the second-half.
Then this week Mick copped a two-week suspension by the judiciary and Terry got one - both found guilty of misconduct and abuse directed towards referee Willie Barnes.
Four tries from full-back Steve Madden and three by Warren Wilson off the bench was a highlight for CYMS.
Against Forbes, CYMS can't afford to be complacent with the Magpies winning their last games against Nyngan and Wellington - a 33-32 result that should be treated with caution.
Forbes have a mixture of experience and youth in their side with Australian Schoolboys lock Zac Merritt named in under-18s but certain to be given game time in first grade, as he did against Wellington.
The under-18 clash tomorrow at No.1 Oval should be a feature of the afternoon, as both sides are unbeaten.
