Two bulldozers have almost razed the entire building.
The familiar blue columns are almost all that remain of the 30-year-old station which is being demolished to make way for a new, state-of-the-art police headquarters.
Yesterday, a spokesman for NSW police minister David Campbell said demolition was on schedule and it was expected to be finished shortly.
The $17.7 million, three-storey station will bring nearly all of Dubbo's police officers, some serving the region, under one roof.
The final part of the station's funding was unveiled in the NSW state budget handed down earlier this month.
The station is scheduled to be completely razed during July, after which construction firm Richard Crookes Construction will clear away the rubble.
The developers will excavate to build a new underground car park for police officers before boring the foundation piers for the main structure.
The new station is scheduled to be completed in August 2008 and in the interim, police are fully operational from their temporary site at the former St John's Primary school in Bultje Street.
