Former Dubbo resident Daisy Hicks will make her debut on the WIN Network's Millionaire Hot Seat tonight, after she was flown to Melbourne from Sydney months ago to take part.
Miss Hicks, 20, moved from Dubbo to Sydney to study at the Australian Academy of Dramatic Arts (AADA) two years ago, and in that time has shown an interest in appearing on a television game show.
She sat a general knowledge test on her computer and showed an interest in all things historical, and before she knew it she was whisked off to Melbourne to film her part on television.
Younger sister Millie Hicks said her sister knew a lot of historical facts after reading many books.
"Daisy was so excited to go on (Millionaire) Hot Seat but she was also quite nervous," she said.
Although sworn to secrecy until after the episode was aired, Miss Hicks was able to say she enjoyed her time on the show and was keen to appear on another program in the near future.
"She said she'd like to try out for Deal Or No Deal and The Price Is Right next time," Millie said.
The girls' mother, Libby, could not contain her excitement that her daughter was to appear on television today.
"It's Daisy's ambition to work in musical theatre, and she has been concentrating on that for a long time. She was so excited to get the call to go and meet Eddie... we're all so proud of her," Mrs Hicks said.
She said her family, including brother Oscar, were so proud of her and very supportive throughout her Millionaire Hot Seat experience.
Daisy Hicks is one of two Dubbo residents to be selected for Millionaire Hot Seat.
Dubbo woman Virginia Carter was flown from Dubbo to Melbourne last week to film her episode, which is due to air in February or March next year.
Jason Owen from Albert, 120 kilometres from Dubbo, made the final five performers of PRIME7's The X Factor.
While Warren local Zoe was, at time of printing, one of the final five housemates of the rejuvenated 2012 series of Big Brother, the finale of which is to air tomorrow night.
Daisy Hicks will appear on the WIN Network's Millionaire Hot Seat tonight from 5.30pm.
