More than 400 children aged between 3 and 14 years took part in the Great Lego Building Challenge at Dubbo.
Imagination abounded during five days of heats, before Saturday’s finals decided the winning three builders in each of the junior and senior categories.
It was a tough time for the judges.
They ultimately awarded first prize in the three to seven years section to Ashton.
In the 8 to 14 years category Blake took out top honours with his work.
The three winners in each category shared in the total prize pool of $800 worth of Lego
Family and other spectators gathered around the activity, brought to Orana Mall by Northcoast Productions.
Participants had 20 minutes to make their designs from $4000 of Lego pieces.
Northcoast Productions manager Simon Griffiths said it was all about hands on blocks and seeing the children smile.
“The enthusiasm from the kids and the support from the parents was fantastic, many driving huge distances to be involved,” he said.
Mr Griffiths offered his congratulations to all the young builders.
During the challenge they had seen a range of creations including houses, boats, beach scenes, zoo exhibits, cars, trucks and farms.
Halette Rodrigues, mother of three Lego fans from Narromine, said her sons had loved the challenge.
