The free checks will run from 9am until 12pm in the Dubbo Autobarn car park, however they are only available for families who have a booking.
Dubbo Regional Council road safety officer Jayne Bleechmore said the event was a chance for parents and carers to ensure their restraint was to Australian standards.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
“As the Christmas school holiday period approaches and parents are planning their holiday destinations, it’s more important than ever to ensure parents and carers have chosen an Australian Standards approved child restraint appropriate for the child’s height,” Ms Bleechmore said.
“Equally important is how the restraint has been secured to the car seat. The road can be a dangerous environment and correctly fitted child restraints give little ones the best chance of surviving a crash.”
