The Macquarie Credit Union DREAM Festival has announced drive-in movies as part of its 2018 program.
Feature films will screen on October 19, 20 and 21.
The Westview Drive-in attracted thousands of people and hundreds of cars when it opened for a special Youth Week program in 2017 and left patrons wanting more.
Eighteen months later, the sequel is here.
“We’re excited to announce that, in partnership with Westview Drive-in, three nights of movies will be presented during this year’s festival,” DREAM Festival chairwoman Anne Field said.
“The drive-in is a wonderful experience for young and old alike, and if the success of last year’s events are anything to go by, then those lucky enough to get tickets this time around will be in for a real treat.”
The Westview site on the Mitchell Highway had sat dormant for 32 years before last year’s event.
Hours and hours of work went into revamping the asset, and its giant screen received a fresh coat of paint.
Classic movies showed to patrons, with the majority of sessions selling out.
Mrs Field said this year there would be a few changes.
“Because we’ll be in daylight saving time, we’ll only be screening one feature film each night,” she said.
“And due to traffic restrictions, there will only be 250 cars allowed into the venue, so we’d expect tickets to sell out very quickly."
The movies will be revealed next week, and then tickets will go on sale through www.westviewdrivein.com.au, with sessions being run on Friday 19th, Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st October.
