Yarn lover Robyn Hicks is hosting an event on Saturday that will see the knitting needles – or crochet hooks – given a workout.
Knitters and crocheters are invited to bring their projects and a chair to the rotunda in Church Street between 10.30am to 1.30pm.
The alternate venue in case of rain is Ms Hicks’ store Yummy Yarn and co.
The World Wide Knit In Public Day website reports it is the largest knitter-run event in the world.
It was started in 2005 by Danielle Landes.
In 2017 there were 1125 Knit-In-Public events in 54 different countries, the website says.
Each local event is put together by a volunteer or a group of volunteers.
