A seasoned comedian, Mr Trenwith has most recently focused on children’s comedy.
Speaking to Fairfax Media earlier this week, Mr Trenwith said the ‘Mr Snot Bottom - Seriously Stinky Songs’ show is “a very silly kids comedy for 5 years and up.”
“But it’s inclusive to parents as well… it’s been called a multi-generational comedy… The humour plays on the relationships between parents and children,” he said.
Some of the songs and topics that Mr Trenwith covers includes what happens at school, being too old to ride in a shopping trolley and much more.
Audiences should expect a “silly, loud and bombastic” show, according to Mr Trenwith, who has been doing comedy for a number of years.
For a time he was the super hero Captain Starlight and visited seriously ill children at the Melbourne Children’s Hospital.
Mr Trenwith said growing up he wanted to be an animated, but as he got older a cartoon character sounded like a great career.
“This (a comedian) is the closest you can get to being a cartoon character,” he laughed.
While stand up comedy has been something Mr Trenwith has been doing for the past 15 years, it’s only recently that he moved into children’s comedy.
“I was doing children’s theatre and Captain Starlight before, but the character (Mr Snot Bottom) came about after performing at a kid’s birthday party,” he said.
Mr Trenwith said the show is very much a “bonding experience” for parents and their children who attend.
“I think when you can laugh with someone you get closer to them,” he said.
This will be a show that will seriously have you laughing out loud so if you can handle dealing with a little more snot and toilet humour to what you’re already enduring at home, you won’t be sorry.
In fact, be prepared to laugh harder than your kids.
Mr Snot Bottom’s Seriously Stinky Songs is coming to the Dubbo RSL on Tuesday, April 17.
