Sunday marks the start of Hearing Awareness Week, during which the centre will also be offering free screening to anyone over the age of 18.
Centre manager Debbi Amos and community hearing adviser Sharon Simpson urged people to look after their hearing like they do their teeth or eyes.
“You can feel very isolated when you have hearing loss, and you pull back from your friends and family,” Ms Amos said.
“It’s hard to pick up on, but really we should be checking our hearing every two years like we do our eyes,” Ms Simpson added.
Australian Hearing will be at Sunday’s Rotunda Markets from 8.30am until 1pm.
