Will Hazzard, a student at the Dubbo School of Distance Education, has been chosen as a finalist for the Arts and Fashion Award. He is up against three other young achievers.
The 16-year-old is the second youngest finalist across all seven categories, which range from Sports awards to the Women Creating Change Award.
The winners of each category will be announced at the Gala Dinner in Sydney on April 20.
Last year, Will was chosen to decorate one of four of Dubbo’s entrance rhinos. He has also recently won three junior sections at the Rydal Show – portrait, watercolour and painting (any subject) – as well as taking out first place in the adult watercolour section.
