The Cougars headed into day two of the top-of-the-table clash with South Dubbo in pole position and finished the job in a convincing manner.
Souths resumed at 4/34 in reply to CYMS’ day one total of 174 and while Cameron Herd (17) and Joe Cant (16) stuck around for a little while the resistance didn’t last long.
Sma Knaggs removed Herd and then James ‘Busta’ Nelson grabbed his third when knocking over Angus Norton (6).
Mick McCarthy hit 24 not out but Callan Braithwaite (2/23) knocked over the tail to cap off a strong bowling performance from the Cougars and dismiss Souths for 112.

The 62-run win saw CYMS leapfrog Souths and move four points clear at the top with just two rounds of two-day matches remaining.
Ian Marchant built on his day one effort for Macquarie and then his side’s tail wagged to help the Blues down Rugby at Lady Cutler 1.
Macquarie, needing a win to stay in touch with the top three, began the day in a healthy position at 1/68 in reply to Rugby’s 208.
Marchant, starting the day on 50, overcame the early losses of Rich Hawker (15) and captain Joe Haylock (0) to keep the runs ticking over.
He fell to James Mortimore (2/24) to make it 4/112 and that gave Rugby a real sniff.
But John Blizzard (35) and Shane Dupille (26) kept the Blues on track and then youngster Hugh Sienkiewicz made a crucial 12 not out to help his side reach the target with two wickets in hand.
Adam Richards finished with a 3/41 from 18 tough overs for Rugby.
Macquarie is now fourth, despite being locked on 45 points with third-placed RSL-Colts while Rugby remains last, 14 points off the finals places.
Newtown backed up a strong day one effort in the field with a professional performance with the bat to keep its finals hopes alive.
The Tigers dismissed RSL-Colts, the defending premiers, for 134 last week and after resuming at 1/19 went on to score a comfortable four-wicket victory.
It wasn’t looking all smooth when Geoff Wheeler (3/17) and Jakke Gardiner (3/25) helped reduce the Tigers to 4/40.
But captain Tom Barber dug in while Adam Davis stuck around and provided handy support.
The pair added 47 before Wheeler removed Gardiner (30) and despite Jesse Spang (0) falling sahortly after, Barber guided his side home.
Barber finished 56 not out in a real captain’s knock.
The Tigers are still in reach of the competition’s top three and play last-placed Rugby next round.
