The NICC at Alice Springs began on Monday and NSW scored a resounding win over Northern Territory.
Northern Territory weren’t expected to be a pushover at all after finishing third last year but Larance claimed 6/16 from 9.2 overs to help roll the hosts for just 90.
One of those six was key man Zac Chapman, who top-scored for the Northern Territory with 66.
Chapman was part of an incredible collapse as the home side lost a staggering six wickets for no runs at the end.
Larance’s off-spin has become a real weapon this season and he shone when working in tandem with fellow Dubbo tweaker Marty Jeffrey, who bagged 2/15.
The third of the Dubbo players at Alice Springs, Ben Patterson, finished with 0/12.
NSW had no trouble in reply, Brynley Richards (38 not out) and Newcastle gun Nathan Price (30 not out from 21 balls) leading their side to victory inside 20 overs and with nine wickets in hand.
NSW plays Victoria on Tuesday.
