The group cooked a free barbecue for the Dubbo community at the town’s Australia Day celebrations on Friday.
With an early 6am start they had snags, bacon and eggs cooking up on the hot plates, sending delicious smells through Victoria Park.
President of the Dubbo Macquarie Rotary Club John Stonestreet said it had become a routine thing for the volunteers to cook the Australia Day barbecue.
“It’s all free to the community and it’s our way of giving a bit back into the community and providing our service. That’s what we do,” he said.
Mr Stonestreet said the day was fantastic and well-attended.
“I think everyone has enjoyed themselves and it’s been great to see the people of Dubbo coming out and celebrating our beautiful country,” he said.
The Rotary Club are always looking for new members.
If there is anyone interested, Mr Stonestreet urges them to come along to meetings. The Dubbo Macquarie Rotary Club meet on Tuesday’s from 12:30-2pm at the Westside Hotel.
