The evening of fun is set down for Remembrance Day, November 11 at the Castlereagh Hotel with the night to continue fundraising efforts that has seen kilometres of the Macquarie River cleaned up, re planted and repaired.
Inland Waterways River Repair Bus and trailer has been making its way along the Macquarie River for almost 12 months now, not only cleaning up rubbish and acts of illegal dumping but also weeding and working to restore the local waterways health.
Work for the dole participants on the bus have also planted thousands of native trees in a bid to restore the Macquarie River to its former glory.
The Garden Hotel fishing club has again thrown major sponsorship support behind the event that will see those in attendance become Las Vegas high-rollers for a night, all with play money, to raise funds for the local river.
The Outback Angler Dubbo has donated a swag of prizes including a brand new kayak, and two premium grade high quality Shimano fishing rods and reels.
A weekend away on Lake Burrendong's resident houseboat “The Miss Macquarie" is also up for grabs, with owners Paula and Aaron Clifford once again selflessly throwing their support behind the fundraiser.
Dan Compton from Wings out West has also donated four pre instructional flights over Dubbo, with the winners assured of a lifetime experience as they fly up and down the Macquarie River and over the city of Dubbo.
An Engel eclipse 38 litre fridge freezer, a brand new chainsaw, handmade ironbark furniture, a weekend in a Lexus from Dubbo city Toyota, and a stack of other prizes have rolled in from the Dubbo community, who have again banded together in a bid to see the health of the local river improved, repaired and protected.
Tickets for the night are now available at $30 per head through the Castlereagh Hotel, on a first in best dressed basis as places are limited.
