If the saying “attitude reflects leadership” is true, then Slater & Gordon are in safe hands after their North-Western Practice Group Leader Phillip Young was awarded Business Leader of the Year in the Regional Australia Bank Rhino Awards.

An accredited specialist in Personal Injury, it was Phillip’s hard work and commitment to mentoring and training junior lawyers and colleagues which saw him recognised.

When asked what he was most proud of, Phillip said it was providing a pathway for graduate lawyers in regional NSW. “I have mentored four junior lawyers in Dubbo all of which have remained in the business and become successful in their own right,” he said.

Originally a police officer in the NSW Police Force, Phillip has practiced law since 1998 and has been with Slater & Gordon since they commenced operating in Dubbo in 2010. He puts his success down to a simple formula of “hard work and treating people with respect”.

A major advantage of his personal injury specialisation is that he is able to provide services to client’s at the Slater & Gordon office in Dubbo which may not otherwise be offered in a regional area.

He is looking forward, along with the rest of the team, to continuing to ensuring the rights and entitlements of people throughout regional NSW are looked after by providing legal services in the specialised area of personal injury.
