Macquarie meets Mitchell in the 14s and 16s but much of the focus will be on the older age group where the hosts feature the likes of Australian under 16s star Brock Larance and fellow RSL-Whitney Cup regulars Ben Wheeler, Mitch Ashford and Max Rumble.
Larance is the obvious star of show given his achievements while he made a fine start to his senior season when making a classic hard-hitting 69 for CYMS in round one against Rugby.
As well as that trio, Connor Watts and Jake Settree have proven themselves capable of making an impact in the senior grades and will be key components of the Macquarie lineup.
Larance, Wheeler and Watts will be vital with the bat against a Mitchell outfit which has a large number of Bathurst-based juniors.
The hosts will start as favourites given the talent in the lineup and the fact they are the defending premiers.
In terms of bowling, Larance and Ashford are expected to keep things tight with their spin bowling while there’s a huge amount of other options.
The under 14s outfit features the likes of CYMS first grader and talented keeper-batsman Tom Coady but there is a mass of talent on that sides as well with Anthony Atlee, Patty Nelson and Lawson Shepherd also named in the squad.
It’s a tough test for the Macquarie side first up with Mitchell being the defending premiers in the under 14 division and a number of the players remain in the age group this campaign.
Both matches between Macquarie and Mitchell begin at 10am on Sunday at the Lady Cutler complex.
