Retired school teacher, Evan Elliott, has taken part in a cycling event at Sydney’s Centennial Park that marked the 200th anniversary of the society and raised money for the translation project.
Mr Elliott collected more than $1300 with his major sponsors Ben Braithwaite of B & C Caravans, Kathy Furney, and David Little of David Little Engineering.
It takes his contribution to the society through Bike for Bibles rides to almost $29,000. Some of the money has gone to improving literacy in other countries and providing the Bible to people “who come across trauma” including police and the Australian Defence Force.
The keen cyclist, who trains five days a week, wants to boost his latest fundraising to $1500.
