Year 12 students Bradley Field and Christopher Isbister-Keally have been chosen by TAFE NSW to work in its Mount Panorama Motorsport Training Centre during Australia’s most iconic Supercar race.
During that time they will assist teams from a number of categories with repairs.
The pair study a Certificate II in Automotive as part of the TAFE-delivered Vocational Education and Training (TVET) program.

“I love to get my hands dirty and working on cars, and it will be a lot better than sitting in the classroom,” budding mechanic Christopher said.
“To get behind the scenes of the biggest race in Australia will be great.”
“I think it will be a really fun experience, it’s not every day you get to see the V8 Supercars race and actually get to be a part of it,” Bradley added.
TAFE NSW Automotive Teacher John Ewing said the pair should look to make the most of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
“This is a very exciting opportunity for the students to not only get a close look at the Supercar legends in action, it also gives them the chance to get hands-on and work on a variety of racing cars,” he said.
“Every year TAFE NSW students have the chance to help at the Motorsport Training Centre, with many drivers and teams in many different classes relying on us to help them with mechanical and panel repairs to get them back on the track and racing again.”
