Charles Sturt University (CSU) will celebrate its 20th anniversary in Dubbo on Tuesday September 5 (not September 7 as previously advised) at a free event from 5pm to 8pm.
I invite previous staff members, community members, alumni and past graduates and current students to attend.
Please remember to RSVP on 6885 7305 so we can cater appropriately.
We are organising a photo display as part of the celebration and community members with any photos or media stories they would like to share can drop them into Skye Ireland or contact her on 6885 7305.
The official relaunch of the revitalised campus at CSU in Dubbo is on Monday September 18.
The time will be announced closer to the event.
On September 26 from 10.30am to 11.30am we will hold The Great Book Swap at the campus Indigenous Student Centre at which people are encouraged to attend, donate books, and buy a book for a gold coin donation.
All funds raised go into the Indigenous Literacy Foundation to provide books for Indigenous children.
Following that we have ‘The Mawang Experience’ from 11.30am to 1.30pm in the Indigenous Student Centre.
‘Mawang’ is Wiradjuri for ‘all together’. This will be an event with music, dance workshops, cultural learning activities, good food, and the planting of our native food and medicinal garden at the centre.
This free event is open to all members of the public.
In late September the Royal Life Saving Association is offering an online first aid course with an associated compulsory face-to-face workshop for CSU staff and students.
This is an important skill for as many as possible in the community to have, so I encourage everyone to consider doing a first aid course at some time – you never know when you will need it.
The campus had several significant events in August.
More events at CSU in Dubbo for the community will be announced as plans are finalised.
