Direct from the U.S.A, the world class production has toured all over to rave reviews and is the one and only Michael Jackson show that features actual Michael Jackson staff, singers and band members.
The show has been created by and stars the dynamic showmanship of William Hall who first had the idea of the doing the show in 2009.
The Texan has been performing since he was three and is an accomplished dancer, choreographer and musician.
William’s love of Michael Jackson started at a young age and he is now recognised worldwide as one of the best Michael Jackson tribute artists.
His sell out tours are a testament to his dedication to deliver the kind of perfect show that Michael was famous for.
When Fairfax Media spoke to William last Thursday morning it was 5pm at Las Vegas, where William lives.
“I’ve just got back from a three week tour of Germany so I’ve just been relaxing and getting ready for Australia,” he said.
William said he was looking forward to be be coming back to Australia, as he has a lot of fans and friends here.
This is the second year that Australia has been included in the tribute show, with the first time being in 2016.
‘I was there last year for a month… but this year it’ll be for two months. I wanted to do more places. I like to cover my ground,” he said.
William said it was important to include the smaller centres just as much as the metropolitan ones.
“Sometimes the smaller places are better because they don’t always get big name entertainment so they really turn out (when a performance does come to town),” he said.
“They’re just amazing.”
After years of planning William started the show about five years ago and began touring three and a half years ago. The overseas shows were added in 2016.
“Before I knew it, the show was on stage,” he said.
“It’s crazy, but I love it. And I wouldn’t change it for the world.”
The show also features guitarist Tommy Organ from Michael Jackson’s ‘This Is It’ tour. It is musically directed by world renowned bassist Sam Sims, long-time work affiliate to MJ studio and stage.
It is choreographed by LaVelle Smith Jr who featured in both the Bad and Dangerous tours and features three prestige background vocalist Kevin Dorsey and Ken Stacey who both worked with Michael Jackson on the Bad, Dangerous and This Is It tours and the Jade Claggett.
The Michael Jackson - The Legacy Tour, will be in Dubbo on Sunday, September 3, at the DRTCC at 8pm.
