In a season which has largely be devoid of upsets, the Jets stunned the Raiders when winning 26-22 at Cale Oval.
The Jets were buoyed coming into the match after scoring a breakthrough win for the season last round against Westside and the side was further boosted by the return of influential captain-coach Luke Thompson.
Thompson suffered a knee injury during the off-season which ruled him out of the start of the competition but he was back in front of a bumper Jets crowd on Saturday.
The club was celebrating its sponsors and also holding its annual charity day, which raised $1800 for each of the Narromine Cancer Support Group, the Narromine Volunteer Rescue Association and also the Royal Flying Doctor Service Dubbo Support Group.
In terms of the match, Jets centre EJ Fernando continued his fine season with another try while winger DJ Gordon and DJ Kennedy also got across the stripe.
The Jets' other try was scored by second rower Ryan Richardson, who was immense for his side in the victory.
For Macquarie, the loss came as a blow after an important win over the Wellington Cowboys last round.
The Raiders are now just two points ahead of both the Jets and Cowboys and two points off the fourth placed Forbes Magpies
Willie Wright was missing for the Raiders, who had Ash Widders score a double.
In the round’s other matches, Nyngan bounced back from a loss to CYMS with a resounding 56-18 win over Dubbo Westside, with James Fisk and Robert Gudgeon both scoring doubles.
At Pioneer Oval, the Parkes Spacemen turned it on against the Wellington Cowboys. The in-form Spacemen led the Cowboys 34-4 at half time and went on to score a routine 40-12 victory.
The Spacemen and Tigers now share second spot, four points behind CYMS, at the regular season’s midway point while Forbes drops to fourth position.
