Parkes' Dan Ryan stars through the middle as NSW Country Cockatoos score convincing win over ACT Brumbies Provincial

Central West stars Dan Ryan and Charlie French helped NSW Country make it two wins from two this representative season with a convincing performance against the ACT Brumbies Provincial side on Sunday.

Played in bitterly cold conditions at Canberra, the Brumbies led early before the Cockatoos found their feet and got better as the match went in a 50-34 win.

Parkes Boars gun Ryan was a standout at lock and made big metres through the middle all match as the Cockatoos building on its opening 40-7 win over NSW Suburban Rugby Union earlier in the month.

“Whilst the Country boys are playing a hard and fast-free flowing style of rugby, it’s the extra effort being put in … that has all involved happy that the weekend was a success,” winning coach Mat Thomas said.

The Cockatoos next play Queensland Country at Newcastle on July 1.
