Kooroora Miss has drawn barrier 16 but the five-year-old mare might take running down if jockey Nyssa Burrells can find the early lead without undue pressure.
Last outing Kooroora Miss finished midfield behind the promising winner The Frick at Dubbo but had won over 1400m at Young after a game second at Wagga Wagga when setting the pace.
Now trained at Queanbeyan by Joe Cleary, Alarinda (Jake Pracey-Holmes) will have the first start in Australia when contesting the Cup.
A winner in New Zealand prior to Christmas, Alarind failed over longer distances at subsequent starts but will be racing fresh at Parkes.
Mugga Malley, Kijitsu, War Groom and Easiestgameonearth will be other fancied starters in the Cup.
The Cup is at 2.50pm.
