Anthony Frisby was as surprised as anyone when Our Uncle Sam set a new track record over the 1720m at Dubbo Harness Racing Club on Friday night.

While Jarrod Alchin and Ima Mystery Girl stole the show when winning the $30,000 Group 3 Red Ochre Mares Classic feature, Frisby was in the gig when Our Uncle Sam blitzed the competition in the $9180 TAB Pace.
Our Uncle Sam got around the track in a milerate of 1:55:3, comfortably the best of the night, in a whopping 13.2m victory.
“I didn’t think we’d gone that hard,” Frisby confessed.
“We went over to scale and someone said 1:55 and he did it easy. He did it all himself too so it was quite a thrill to see that time.”
Our Uncle Sam, trained by Chris Frisby, got to the lead early on and controlled proceedings from there on out.
When the field hit the back straight during the final lap, the three-year-old pulled clear and the lead only got bigger from there.
The raging $1.10 favourite finished well ahead of Limbo Larry ($21.60) and Guts ($10.30), trained and driven by Dubbo’s Nathan Carroll.
“He put a fair gap on them,” Frisby said, with Our Uncle Sam having finished first or second in his past five starts.
“Two starts back he finished second to Atomic Red, who’s with Steve Turnbull, and you can’t fault that because he (Atomic Red) an unbelievable run. But our bloke is going phenomenal.”
Frisby said a trip to Melbourne is next up for the rising star, where Our Uncle Sam will take on “the big boys” in an open three-year-old event.
