The competition is run by Western Local Land Services and Western Landcare for amateur photographers.
They are being asked to capture the “beauty, diversity and uniqueness” of a region that covers about 40 per cent of NSW and takes in communities such as Bourke, Broken Hill, Balranald and Cobar.
Competition coordinator Henry Gregory has reported on the quality of the 46 entries received as of 9am Wednesday. “We are really pleased with the images that are coming in,” he said. “They have been fantastic.”
Mr Gregory is reminding amateur photographers that they can enter photos taken since January 1, 2015.
“If you’re unable to get out and take photos but have some great ones from the past couple of years, you can submit those as long as the photos were taken in the Western Local Land Services region,” he said.
This year, all photos must be submitted through www.lifeandlight.com.au. Entries close on June 30 for Life and Light that carries $3900 in prize money.
