Last year the glory was shared between the two cities who each took home a plaque signifying their achievements, Dubbo winning the most donations and Orange with the highest percentage of participants. However this year Dubbo has plans to hang both plaques in their foyer.
In 2016 the Dubbo branch made 39 donations between June and August, in turn helping to save 117 lives in the community. Orange made 25 donations with 56 per cent of staff participating.
Australian Red Cross Blood Service community relations officer Brian Bruce said the challenge brings a timely boost in donations over the cooler months.
