CYMS produced one of the dominant performances in recent bush footy history when defeating Dubbo Westside 102-0 in a match called off 13 minutes from time.
But Fishies centre Jyie Chapman
“We’re keen for a big game,” he said.
“They will be a bit better and Narromine are always tough. They’re always strong there at home and they recruited well and have got some new players so they’ll be keen to put on a good show.”
The Jets also had plenty of points scored against them in round one, going down to Parkes 56-32.
The side is still coming to terms with the loss of of influential captain-coach Luke Thompson who suffered a knee injury during the off-season but Chapman was keen to say his side won’t be underestimated the Jets.
“We treat every game the same and we treat every team the same,” he said.
“Whe we scored 102 we just played our game. Narromine will be a bit stronger and have got a few more key players.”
CYMS will have four players backing up from Western Rams duty on Saturday – Alex Bonham, Wade Kavanagh, Lincoln Kavanagh and Lee Price – and the quartet is no guarantee to play at Cale Oval.
“It will be tough for those boys coming back after playing 80 minutes, which I think most of them will do, so we’ve got to help those boys but we’ve got a few new players,” Chapman said.
Maika Serulevu impressed in his debut in reserve grade in round one and is every chance to get a spot while the experienced Tom Yeo, back at CYMS after time with the Dunedoo Swans, is an option in the halves.
Chapman said the addition of those players has been welcomed following the departure of players like Colby Pellow, Matt Toole and John Grey.
Former Fishie Corey Cox will be key for the Jets in the halves while big men Alex Sambrook and Ryan Richardson will again lead the way from the front row.
Sunday’s match kicks off at 2.30pm.
