The five-week program, which launched in Dubbo last week, covers a variety of topics from physical activity to challenging your brain to staying social.
“You go to the gym to exercise your muscles, this is a way to exercise your brain,” Macquarie Regional Library’s Fiona Dunn said.
She said the idea for Your Brain Matters came from a library conference where Ms Dunn heard about a similar program being run in Gunnedah. Thinking there was nothing of the sort in Dubbo, Ms Dunn said she contacted Jenny Roberts from Alzheimer's Australia, who jumped on board the idea.
Despite the program only starting last week, the second round of brain training, beginning in May, has already been booked out.
Due to its popularity, Ms Dunn said the library would be looking into ways they could ensure everyone who wanted to train their brain would get the chance.
