Local band Civil Hands will launch their debut album Leave It All Behind on Saturday from 7pm, they’ll be coming together with other local musicians and filmmakers to create a live art experience.
Visual media created by Jack Randell and Peter Aland will be projected on the walls, accompanying the sounds of Brandon Troutman and bands One Proud Monkey and Civil Hands. A number of curated short film pieces will be projected between acts.
Civil Hands front man Fred Randell said the event would allow the band members to celebrate with their friends, and to showcase the depth of talent in Dubbo.
“We want to celebrate … with our friends. These are the guys that have inspired us and who are hopefully inspired by our music as well,” Mr Randell said.
“But we love their music and … I just want to be able to show that Dubbo is producing great original tunes.
“On the film side what we’re looking for is to create an experience that transcends just a gig.”
Leave It All Behind was two years in the making.
“We’ve been playing these songs, we love these songs, together the 11 tracks tell a story … and that’s why we’re celebrating it,” Mr Randell said.
“It’s important to us and we want people to hopefully be able to enjoy these stories too as we celebrate on Saturday night.”
The event starts at 7pm on Saturday, March 25. Tickets are on sale through 123 Tix for $10. The first 100 purchased will also receive a copy of the album Leave It All Behind.
