The pair will each have a chance in the $75,000-to-the-winner Paws of Thunder Final (520m) – Forbes’ Smith having his champion Brad Hill Billy in box five while Braddon’s rising star Falcon’s Fury from Cowra will jump from box seven.
Falcon’s Fury blitzed his heat last week and boasts an intimidating record at Wentworth Park having registered four successive wins from four attempts, but hasn’t drawn any wider than five.
A dog by Fabregas X Janderra’s Fury, Falcon’s Fury – who is the finals second fastest qualifier – has 10 victories from 14 starts.
Triumph this Saturday would be the highlight of his young career, while Brad Hill Billy is very used to big events.
Smith’s dog ran second in the Group 1 $250,000-to-the-winner Golden Easter Egg last year.
The Final is at 9.50pm.
