Robert was the first baby of the year at Dubbo Hospital, arriving at 7.10pm on January 1.
His parents named him Robert after David’s grandfather. Susan said the name had been part of a shortlist they had come up with in the month leading up to his birth.
He was born healthy and had been feeding well, according to his mum. Mother and baby were able to go home just four hours after delivery because of the midwifery program at the hospital.
As well as excitement, there was some relief for Susan. Robert had been due on December 21 and she was induced 10 days later to help his arrival.
However they felt the time was perfect and said it was exciting that Robert would always be able to celebrate his birthday with fireworks.
David and Susan said they wanted to thank the staff at Dubbo Hospital for their assistance.
