Pilon was a standout for his side during the finals day at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), making a crucial 71 in the semi-final, while he made 28 and organised is side brilliantly in the decider, constantly making fielding changes and keeping the batsmen guessing.

But he said each member of the squad had played a role in helping make-up for last season’s semi-final exit.
“We came here last year and fell just short but we got together shortly before we left 12 months and said we’d be back,” he said. “We put a lot of effort into it and the boys played for each other so this is a very, very big thing.”
