The former Macquarie Valley player took the new ball and picked up 2/42 from 17 overs as the Bushrangers knocked over Tasmania for 203 on day one of the Sheffield Shield clash at Hobart.
Tremain knocked over Jordan Silk (14) early before returning to the attack later on to have Ben McDermott (17) trapped in front.
Tremain now has 23 wickets for the season, one less than leading wicket-taker Chadd Sayers, who was called up to the Australian squad, but didn’t make the final 11, in the recent series against South Africa.
Despite his side’s impressive efforts with the ball, spinner Jon Holland claimed another five wicket haul, the Bushrangers struggled in reply.
At one stage on Tuesday afternoon, the match being a day-night fixture played with a pink ball at Blundstone Arena, Victoria was 6-135.
