The Dubbo District Senior Cricket Association, the Dubbo Kangaroos Junior Rugby Club and Dubbo Regional Council have all collaborated on the complex, with the Dubbo Community Men’s Shed completing the puzzle.
“It’s mainly been done on community work,” Dubbo Regional Council manager of sporting facilities Wes Giddings said.
“The men’s shed has kindly donated their time for the construction of the seating in the four change rooms and the referees’ room.
“The facility will help greatly for when we have regional carnivals come to Dubbo, so it’s a great asset for the town.”
Men’s shed members also showed off their new roof, which was funded through the federal government’s Stronger Communities Program in partnership with Dubbo Regional Council.
“This is the latest collaboration...between federal and local government,” council’s manager of social services John Watts said.
“It’s great to get the tiers of government working together.”
