Colts has built a dominant 10-point lead at the top of the ladder in just four rounds, having won three and lost just one.
Newtown finds itself in the same situation, having won three and lost one, but the manner of their wins means the Tigers still sit in third spot.
Much to the club’s frustration, Newtown sits behind South Dubbo on the ladder despite having won more matches than the Hornets.
The Tigers come into the match with plenty of confidence having scored a bonus point win over South Dubbo last week and their chances are boosted even further by the fact Colts will be without a number of key players.
Greg Buckley and Marty Jeffrey are both away with the Western Zone side while new ball bowler Tom Atlee remains out with a broken thumb and Wes Giddings is also in doubt.
Despite that, the men in red still have a formidable team with the likes of Jason Ryan, Chris Morton and Ben Semmler all named while young spinner Mitch Ashford gets his chance in the Whitney Cup.
Newtown will again be led by captain Mat Skinner, who will be key, as will his brother Steve but Dan Holland, Bailey Edmunds and Troy Tracey have also shown this season they are capable of having a big impact on a match.
The match starts at 1pm and marks the second time in less than 24 hours the two sides meet following their clash in the McDonald’s Megahit on Friday night.
