Jewellery, mosaic pieces, paintings, beads, tea light holders and more were on sale as part of Mental Health Month.
Mission Australia’s Housing Accommodation Support Initiative (HASI), and Resource and Recovery (R&R) clients made the items through their regular craft groups.
Mission Australia’s Emma Urquhart said the craft group allowed the clients to socialise, while also creating beautiful things like the mosaics.
Program manager Brittany Boniface said the clients were encouraged to get creative, meet new people, socialise and learn new skills during the craft group sessions.
“Sewing, knitting and mosaics were the big favourites and it was fantastic to see our clients creating something they could be proud of while engaging in therapeutic activities,” said Ms Boniface.
The funds raised from the market will go towards a group dinner, Ms Urquhart said, which would provide another opportunity for the clients to socialise.
This year’s theme for Mental Health Month is Learn and Grow.
