The event will be staged by Community Services Certificate IV students from the TAFE campus, the Dubbo Domestic Violence Prevention Collective and Uniting Church.
The students said in a statement the event will begin with the traditional, peaceful protest march down Macquarie and Bultje Streets, ending in Ollie Robbins Oval, for celebrations to commemorate Reclaim the Night for the Dubbo community and will include a family movie night.
The event highlights the importance of keeping people safe from sexual violence in our community. It aims to raise awareness that the topic of sexual violence is still taboo in society, and still as relevant as ever. The slogan is “No Means No In Any Language”.
