Alongside 41 from NSW Blues and Sydney Thunder rookie Jason Sangha, Jeffrey equal top scored for the ACT/NSW Country outfit with 41, coming in at number five, as his side was rolled for 189 in the 50th over.
After a winless 2015-16 campaign, the Tasmanians chased down the total with four wickets and more than 16 overs to spare, Jeffrey’s leg spin netting him 0-22 off four overs, including a maiden.
Taking on Victoria Country in the fourth round of the tournament at Queensland on Friday, Jeffrey’s side bowled first at Caloundra 1, with the Vics making 9-214 from their 50 overs.
The Dubbo product bowled well, taking 1-32 from his nine overs, also including a maiden.
Proving the hype is worth it, Sangha took 3-21 off his five overs then banged a quick-fire 26 to lead ACT/NSW Country to a healthy position after the side’s openers put together a 156-run stand for the first wicket.
At the crease to see his side home, Jeffrey, at third drop, scored 15 off nine balls – including three fours - to help secure a seven-wicket win, the ACT/NSW Country sides second win of the tournament.
ACT/NSW Country takes on Western Australia at Peter Burge Oval in their final pool game of the titles on Sunday.
