A number of special awards were handed out, including seven to year 12 vice-captain Nick Trappett, while Annika Mestrom received five. The pair are both part of the Macquarie University Global Leadership program.
A packed Senior Campus hall heard from principal Andrew Jones who highlighted the speed in which change is occurring in the world, and the need for students to create new ideas.
“You Year 12 have been given the key to this world – your education,” he said.
“You have the tools to live and thrive in this ever-changing world.”
Special guest speaker at the assembly was former student Khyarne Biles, now a doctor working in emergency.
