More than 90 horses turned out to race at the twice-postponed meet, which Dubbo Turf Club general manager Vince Gordon hailed a success.
“It’s been a very good day, fortunate to get it in there between the weather but the track and the facilities stood up marvellously,” Gordon said.
“Sunday was going to be a magnificent meeting, we had marquees lined up and that’s the start but there’s a really good vibe for racing in Dubbo and we’ll...continue that with our next race meeting in a fortnight’s time.”
It was a great day for Dubbo trainers, with Michael Mulholland’s Juju Man (James Geppert, $10.00) winning the Ascot Gardens & Force8Civil Class 2 Handicap (1100 metres).
Brett Cavanagh won the final leg of the Mitavite Trainers Series with Last Try Wins, while Brett Thompson won the overall series.
