Sam and Jack Roberson dominated the scoring, with Sam getting a hattrick of tries and his younger brother getting one.
Kurt Weekes also had a flawless day with the boot at No.1 Oval for the visitors.
Bulldogs co-coach Brian Roberson was a happy man after the game.
“It’s a good feeling to come to Dubbo and roll Dubbo in that sort of game,” he said.
“We had control for most of the game but to Dubbo’s credit they never gave up, they kept coming back and scoring tries so they kept themselves in it.”
Roos coach Dan Armitage said it was too hard to tell whether the result was because of the Bulldogs’ dominance or his own team being below their best but said Bulldogs deserved to win.
“They were too good. They got a lot of momentum out of last week and played well. They are coming good at the right end of the season,” he said.
“We lost momentum last week and that showed today. We probably left a bit out there”
The Bulldogs were full of confidence after their victory against Orange City seven days earlier and spent large periods of the first half with the ball in the Roos half.
The Bulldogs led 10-0 at half-time courtesy of a Sam Roberson try and a conversion and penalty from Kurt Weekes.
It could have been more but the Roos defence was strong, especially on their own line.
However in the second half the Bulldogs converted their dominance into points.
A second try to Roberson straight after the break extended the lead to 17 before Moa Kavaefiafi hit back for the hosts.
Another Weekes penalty and converted try for Jack Roberson took the score to 27-5 before Eli Kinscher got a converted try of his own with 18 minutes remaining.
Sam Roberson completed his hattrick with 10 minutes remaining before a late try for Roos veteran Shaun McHugh rounded out the score at 37-17.
Armitage praised his team’s defensive effort but was reluctant to single out anyone for individual praise. Both Robersons, Izaak Breen and Scott Johnston were standouts for the Bulldogs.
Brian Roberson said his team would carry plenty of momentum into the clash against Forbes but needed to make sure they played 80 minutes.
“We just have to keep working on those little mistakes we are making and we will duly improve. We still have a couple of weeks to improve and some way to go,” he said.
“The boys have belief and they have their tails up so that is holding us in good stead.”
The news wasn’t all bad for the Kangaroos with the second and third grade teams winning their way through to their respective grand finals but the colts also saw their season come to an end.
The Roos thirds had the benefit of a home ground advantage after their match against the Bathurst Bulldogs was postponed on Saturday and moved to No. 1 Oval.
They beat the Bulldogs 23-7 to progress to the decider.
BATHURST BULLDOGS 37 (Sam Roberson 3, Jack Roberson tries; Kurt Weekes 4 conversions; Kurt Weekes 3 penalties) defeated DUBBO KANGAROOS 17 (Moa Kavaefiafi, Eli Kinscher, Shaun McHugh tries; Anthony Golding conversion)
