With racing cancelled due to the week’s heavy rain, attention turned to the off-track activities.
A sold-out Pink Day at the Races in aid of the McGrath Foundation went ahead, with lunch, an auction and headshave adding to the Foundation’s funds to provide support breast cancer sufferers and their families and provide breast care nurses in rural and regional areas.
The event was a prelude to a month-long event in October, when Mudgee will be the first town in Australia to turn pink for a the whole of the month.
