So having the chance to right that wrong by taking down the rampant Platypi, earning a second straight home grand final in the process?
“That’s exactly what we wanted,” Lockley smiled, just days before Saturday’s major semi-final against Forbes.
The greens and Platypi – the top two at the end of the regular season – will clash head-on this weekend for the right to host the 2016 decider in a mouth-watering grand final qualifier.
“That loss to Forbes was the first time I’d lost with Emus, it’s motivating us going into this one, we don’t like losing,” Lockley said.
“It hurt more because it was at home, that should help us this weekend. We know the field, we know the crowd. Earning a grand final here is the goal.”
