Doing it for the Kiddies, a team made up of Dubbo’s Richard Edgley and Avalon’s David Edgely raised more than $19,000 while Team Thommo, made up of brothers Ed and Gus Thompson raised more than $10,000.
Kidney Health Australia events manager Katie Nicholson said both teams played important roles on the rally, which started in Bathurst on August 12 and ended in Taree on August 20, with a two-day stopover in Dubbo.
“The Dubbo teams really made an effort to ensure participants enjoyed what their town had to offer on the lay day. Many visited local attractions such as the Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Old Dubbo Gaol, and Royal Flying Doctor Visitor Centre,” Ms Nicholson said.
“This year, over $550,000 was raised by participants for Kidney Health Australia’s Kids Camps, Kidney Kids Capers and Young Adult Programs - we couldn’t do what we do without the support of the Kidney Kar Rally.”
