The pre-event dinner of the Maas group Dubbo Stampede, the event will be held on Saturday, August 27 at Taronga Western Plains Zoo to celebrate the event’s fifth year.
“Deeks has achieved much in his sporting career, including holding a world marathon record and Commonwealth Games Gold medals,” Stampede president Tim Ferraro said.
“His recent work with the Indigenous Marathon Project is also inspiring change in Aboriginal communities across Australia.
“We are really excited to hold the night and give people a chance to hear from a true champion.”

The 2016 Dubbo Stampede will run on Sunday 28 August and features the 5.5 km Dingo Dash, 10 km Cheetah Chase, Zebra Zoom Half Marathon (21.1km) and Rhino Ramble Marathon (42.2 km) events.
